What is a resonant recharge?

An invitation to unplug and immerse yourself in resonant soundwaves to invite deep rest and relaxation to your mind and body. This full-body listening experience (also known as a sound bath, sound journey, or sound meditation) utilizes the vibrational resonance of instruments with the intention of gently transitioning you from your normal waking state of being to a highly-relaxed, meditative state where your body’s innate healing processes can work more effectively to bring your mind and body back to equilibrium.

What to expect?

Each experience begins with you settling into the space by lying down or sitting in a comfortable seated position—perhaps with a blanket and eye mask if you’d like to amp up the coziness level.

After a few moments of focused awareness on the breath and body, sound is gently introduced utilizing overtone-emitting instruments, such as crystal signing bowls, chimes, gongs, tuning forks, and drums, to encourage your mind to slowallowing you to drift effortlessly to a state of deep relaxation where you can naturally restore harmony to your mind and body.

The experience finishes with a few moments of silence before subtly awakening your body with gentle movement and light stretching.

FAQs

  • Each event may vary, so it is best to check individual event details for what to expect. For instance, at our signature Monthly Reset sound meditations in Fortville, we ask that you bring a yoga mat or anti-gravity chair to maximize your comfort. At the Salt Cave, zero-gravity chairs are available for your convenience.

Other items you may consider bringing include a blanket for added warmth, and a pillow, yoga bolster or additional blanket to roll up and and tuck under your knees for lower back support. Feel free to bring an eye mask or scarf as well to block out light and amplify your hearing senses during the experience.

We also highly recommended you come with an open heart and mind to flow wherever the sound takes you.

  • Comfy and cozy are the name of the game so we encourage you to come wearing loose-fitting clothing. If you tend to get cold, feel free to add an extra layer for added comfort and don’t forget those socks to keep your feet warm.

  • Most definitely! Laying down is just one way to experience a resonant recharge. You may also opt to sit on a cushion or in a chair if that is more accessible to you. Have one of those zero-gravity lawn chairs? They’re perfect for this experience.

  • Absolutely! No meditation experience is needed. In fact, a sound meditation is where we recommend beginners start their journey with meditation.

Instead of constantly trying to silence your thoughts, the sound captivates your mind and guides you to a deep meditative space effortlessly.

  • Sound baths affect every person differently. Many walk away feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, while others may feel tired.

Some individuals may even experience temporary discomfort during or after an immersive sound experience. This is usually due to the release of tension and/or pent-up emotions that have been stored in the body. If you experience discomfort at any time, it is important to stop the session and rest.

Drink plenty of water and get a good night's sleep to better prepare for your sound meditation and to help your body recover after.

  • "Normal meditation gives my mind too much freedom to wander, but the sound bath kept me engaged so I could actually relax for a while!”
